The volume of water
requiring secondary and tertiary treatment is greatly reduced
resulting in significant savings in treatment costs.
Sanitary effluent is
completely separated from the remainder of the storm, infiltration,
footing, and/or downspout water.
The sanitary effluent
lines in a directional bore run parallel to the existing
sewer line to a chosen manhole.
Pressure or vacuum
lines are inserted and nested into existing lines.
At the chosen manhole
the pressure parallel line is dropped down to the manhole
and welded to the previously inserted small diameter sanitary
effluent line inside the existing storm line.
New pressure sanitary
effluent pipes are of a much smaller diameter, thus by pressure
or vacuum combining the sanitary effluent flow in a smaller
area.
The smaller diameter
sanitary effluent pipes allows approximately the same amount
of space for storm water less the previously required area
for sanitary effluent.
